Travel Adapter Finder
Pick where you live and where you are going. The finder shows the plug types and the mains voltage at your destination, whether your plugs will fit and whether your devices can handle the voltage. Most phone and laptop chargers work on any voltage; hair dryers and straighteners often do not.
How it works
- Plug types use the common letter names (A to O) from the International Electrotechnical Commission list
- Adapter needed if none of your home plug types is used at your destination (C plugs often fit E and F sockets)
- Voltage warning if home and destination voltage differ: check the label on each device for "100-240V"
Three things this tool can't see
- Hotels and old buildings. Some places have older or mixed sockets. A universal adapter covers most cases.
- Device labels. Always read the input range on the charger. If it does not say 100-240V, it needs a voltage converter.
- Changes. Countries update standards over time. Check an official source for unusual destinations.
